    DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1 - QUEBEC AIRPORT (Jean-Lesage Airport)
ACTIVITIES: EXPLORE THE CITY & SHOPPING

Welcome to the birthplace of North America's French civilization, Quebec City. For your accommodation tonight we have chosen a charming downtown hotel, the Chateau Laurier***, where you will receive a warm welcome and spend a comfortable night adjusting to the time difference. There you will find your Authentik travel book, with all the details of your adventure including a road map indicating your route, as well as a personalised roadbook, a host of practical tourist information, a toll-free assistance number, vouchers, etc. We wish you a great stay in the land of snow and winter sports!

Take advantage of your time in the Capital City to do some shopping for winter equipment - winter gear is much less expensive here in Canada than in Europe.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN QUEBEC CITY
Lunch in an authentic Sugar Shack
Dine on the roof of Old Quebec

Sliding at Valcartier Vacation Village

Ice Safari in a hot air balloon

A night at the Ice Hotel or Tour of the Ice Hotel
A night in a country home

Crossing the ice of the St. Lawrence Seaway

Authentik Advice: Do not transfer on to another destination directly after your arrival. The flight from Paris to Quebec, for example, is 8 hours long, and what with the 6-hour time change (at 5 pm in Canada it will feel like 11 pm), you will welcome a good night's sleep in Quebec.

DAY 2 - QUEBEC / SAGUENAY FJORD (300 Km)
ACTIVITIES: WELCOME AND COUNTRY-STYLE DINNER

After breakfast, you pick up your rental car (or board the bus, if that is the option you have chosen) and set out for the Saguenay Fjord via one of Quebec's most scenic routes. You will eat lunch along the way.

For the next few days, you will be staying at Fjord Outfitters, in a typical Canadian wood cabin on a headland of Saguenay Fjord, with an unrestricted view of the postcard-perfect landscape. The Outfitter offers country-style cooking and activities such as snowmobiling, dog sledding, meeting a trapper, contact with Arctic wolves,... A dream location in the heart of Canada's wild open spaces. Dinner with a local flavour and your first night in your Canadian cabin.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY AT POURVOIRIE DU FJORD
Sleep in an igloo

DAY 3 - SAGUENAY FJORD
ACTIVITY: 1/2 DAY OF DOG SLEDDING

Breakfast. Today you will experience winter in its most pristine beauty - by dog sled. At the reins of your team of Siberian Huskies, you will glide through the incredible stillness of the boreal forest. A day spent crossing the immense whiteness that is Canada, land of lakes and rivers.

Dinner by a warm fire, and another night in your Canadian cabin.

* EXTEND YOUR DOG SLEDDING ADVENTURE (optional)

DAY 4 - SAGUENAY FJORD
ACTIVITIES: CONTACT WITH WOLVES AND SNOWSHOEING IN THE FOREST

Breakfast. Today, you will demystify the legend of the "big bad wolf". Accompanied by a naturalist guide, you will come into gradual contact with Arctic wolves. Little by little, you will be able to get closer and earn their confidence. A magical experience! Who knows, maybe you will hear the Call as you "dance with wolves" ?

And why not take the opportunity to explore the hiking trails along the fjord, on snowshoes like the "coureurs de bois" of old? After all, you are on holiday!

DAY 5 - SAGUENAY FJORD
ACTIVITY: MEETING A TRAPPER

Breakfast. During this day of winter adventures, accompanied by a real trapper, you will taste various aspects of forest life, and will get in touch with nature in a most profound way. Your trapper guide will lead you to a beaver's dam under the snow, while teaching you about his customs and traditions; in fact, the role of the trapper is of primary importance in Canada's history. Return to the outfitter for a typical dinner and a good night's sleep in your Canadian cabin.

DAY 6 - SAGUENAY FJORD
ACTIVITY: INTRODUCTION TO SNOWMOBILING

Breakfast. Today will be spent discovering the winter wonderland by snowmobile. Let your sense of adventure lead you to the heart of the legendary Saguenay Fjord, with its Arctic landscapes. After lunch in a typical snowmobile rest stop, the adventure will continue across the headlands of the fjord, a real northern haven with exceptional snow conditions. Return to Fjord Outfitters at the end of the day, for dinner and a good night's sleep in your comfortable wood cabin.

* EXTEND YOUR SNOWMOBILE ADVENTURE

DAY 7 - SAGUENAY FJORD / QUEBEC (300 Km)

Breakfast. Your last chance to enjoy the peace and tranquility of your surroundings before leaving for Quebec City. Arrival in the Old Capital in late afternoon. You will spend the night at that charming downtown hotel, Château Laurier.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES BEFORE DEPARTURE
A night in Montreal

Attend a Montreal Canadians hockey match

Snowshoeing with a traditional storyteller
Skiplane flight

A day with an Indian Chief or A night with the Algonquin

DAY 8 - QUEBEC AIRPORT (Jean-Lesage)

Spend the day discovering the charms of the Capital City, snug beneath its white winter blanket of snow. From Place Royale and Petit Champlain to Dufferin Terrace and Château Frontenac, explore this old city and its many historical sites, recognized and protected by UNESCO. Follow winding alleys that will lead you to hidden places where you will have the impression that you are the first to discover them.

Then you leave for the Quebec Airport, where you return your vehicle, check in your luggage and prepare to leave Canada, your heart full of long-lasting memories of the land of snow and winter sports.

Authentik Advice: Count on an extra day for the return trip. For example, if you leave on Day 8, you will arrive in France on Day 9. The return flight is 6 hours long, to which you have to add the 6-hour time change. If you leave at 3 pm, you will arrive in France the next morning at 3 am.

"I had a wonderful trip, during which I met some incredible people. They helped me to discover their country in their own way. Thank you to the Deschêne family!"
