     DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1 - MONTREAL AIRPORT (P.E. Trudeau Airport)
ACTIVITIES: EXPLORE THE CITY & SHOPPING

Welcome to the world's second-largest French-speaking city, Montreal. A limousine will drive you from the airport to your hotel, l'Auberge du Vieux Port****. Your Authentik travel book will be waiting for you, with all the details of your adventure including a road map indicating your route, as well as a personalised roadbook, a host of practical tourist information, a toll-free assistance number, vouchers, etc. We wish you a great stay in the land of snow and winter sports!

This evening, you will be picked up at the hotel by a calèche (horse-drawn carriage) for a lively tour of Old Montreal. The carriage ride will end in Place Jacques Cartier, where you will enjoy the local cuisine in a chic restaurant near the Old Port. Back to your hotel for a comfortable night's sleep.

Did you know that Montreal is the world's largest underground city? Your hotel is located right next to an entrance to this impressive underground world, with its thousand and one shops - perfect to get your shopping done and to purchase your winter equipment. Take advantage of Canada's lower prices on winter gear!

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN MONTREAL
Attend a Montreal Canadians hockey match
Guided tour of Montreal
Biodome (eco-museum)

Authentik Advice: Do not transfer on to another destination directly after your arrival. The flight from Paris to Montreal, for example, is 8 hours long, and what with the 6-hour time change (at 5 pm in Canada it will feel like 11 pm), you will welcome a good night's sleep in Montreal.

DAY 2 - MONTREAL / MAURICIE (160 KM)
ACTIVITIES: GASTRONOMY AND WIDE OPEN SPACES

After breakfast, you take possession of your 4WD vehicle and set out for the wide open spaces of Canada. Your destination: the beautiful Mauricie region and the impressive Auberge Sacacomie which, with its log structure, blends harmoniously with the postcard landscape surrounding it. Nestled in the heart of the forest, on the edge of the Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve, the auberge looks out on a majestic lake with a shoreline that stretches for over 40 km. Auberge Sacacomie has many activities to offer: snowshoeing in the forest, cross country skiing, broomball on the frozen lake, access to the health club (spa and massage), training room,...

For your stay at Auberge Sacacomie****, we have selected a luxury suite with a fireplace, a Jacuzzi, and a balcony with a captivating view of the majestic winter landscape. Tonight you will savour the local specialties in the Auberge's renowned dining room.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES ALONG THE WAY
Lunch in an authentic Sugar Shack
A night with the Algonquin

DAY 3 - MAURICIE
ACTIVITY: SKIPLANE FLIGHT

Breakfast. Today you have an appointment with your own private bush pilot, who will take you for a skiplane ride. After taking off from the frozen lake, you will fly over the Mastigouche Wildlife Reserve. Have your camera ready, because the landscapes are breathtaking! You will discover the magic of the dark forests asleep under their winter coats of snow.

You have the afternoon off. Why not check out the outfitter's spa, take a guided snowmobile ride, or go skating on the frozen lake?

Dinner and a good night's sleep at Auberge Sacacomie****.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES AT SACACOMIE
Access to the spa
Treatments and massage
Skate on a frozen lake
Snowmobiling safari

DAY 4 - MAURICIE
ACTIVITY: A DAY FOR TWO!

Your first reflex, when you wake up in the morning, is to look out of the window and marvel at the beauty of your natural surroundings. After breakfast, you have the day off, just for the two of you. What could be better than our wide open spaces to energize you and to make the most of your honeymoon!

Today is yours to do what you want. You can explore the splendour of the surrounding snowy landscape: alone or with a trapper, on snowshoes, on horseback, or just walking in your winter boots - you have plenty of choice! Together you will discover the intimacy of the silent forest, the hidden tracks of a passing bird or fox, a feeling of complete well-being and content. You will never see winter in the same light. Dinner and a good night's sleep at Auberge Sacacomie****.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES AT SACACOMIE
Dog sledding excursion
Snowshoeing with a trapper
Horseback riding in the forest

DAY 5 – MAURICIE /JACQUES CARTIER PARK (215 KM
ACTIVITY: DOG SLEDDING

After breakfast you set out for Jacques Cartier Park, whose remarkable landscape is characterized by contrasts: mountainous uplands fractured by steep-sided valleys. A multi-faceted river winds through the most spectacular of them, the Vallée de la Jacques-Cartier, a trench more than 550 m deep. The magic and beauty of this grandiose panorama dressed in its mantle of white will leave you speechless.

Today you will experience winter in its most pristine beauty - by dog sled. Following instructions on safety and sled driving techniques by your musher guide (dog sled guide), you set out through the boreal forest in your own sled drawn by Siberian Huskies. You will take turns at the reins, while your sweetheart sits in the sled, nice and snug. At "snack time" you will be served homemade cookies and a hot drink.

At the end of the day, you return to base camp for a typical French Canadian home-cooked supper. After such an intense day, you will enjoy spending a quiet night in a rustic camp on a snow-covered frozen lake, reserved exclusively for you: what could be more romantic?

DAY 6 – JACQUES CARTIER PARK / SAGUENAY FJORD (225 KM)
ACTIVITY: DOG SLEDDING

Following a hearty breakfast, you help to hitch up the dogs before continuing your exploration of the magnificent landscapes of Jacques Cartier Park. You are greeted by the eager barking of the pack, impatient to set out with you again. Another morning filled with emotion and discovery...

Your adventure continues until the end of the morning, when you must say goodbye to the dogs. After lunch you will leave this enchanted place and continue your journey, this time to Saguenay Fjord. Tonight you are expected at
Cap au Leste Outfitter, where you will be spending the next 3 nights.

DAY 7 - SAGUENAY FJORD
ACTIVITY:
SNOWSHOEING IN THE FOREST

Breakfast. Today, in the company of Jacques or François (the outfitter's guides), you will explore the forest trails on snowshoes. In the intense silence of the maple and pine forest, you will be acutely aware of the smallest sounds, as you watch out for the appearance of a snow hare. Your guide will teach you how to recognize animal tracks in the snow, and you will be amazed at the richness and diversity of your surroundings, even in the heart of winter.

After lunch back at the outfitter, you will resume your snowshoe adventure alone, unless you prefer to trade in the snowshoes for cross-country skis. You will make your way to the headland of the frozen Saguenay fjord. The little-known landscapes of this grandiose fjord will create lasting memories. Here you will discover the immensity of time and space in a place where the colossal forces of nature are imprinted indelibly on the landscape. Immerse yourselves in the profound calm and silence of this majestic place, before returning to Cap au Leste Outfitter at the end of the day. Supper and a night deep in the absolute stillness of the north.

DAY 8 - SAGUENAY FJORD
ACTIVITY: SNOWMOBILING

Breakfast. Today you will tackle the snowy trails of Monts-Valin. Dominating the landscape of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region from its 980-metre vantage point, the Parc national des Monts-Valin enjoys an exceptional snowfall that transforms this territory into a paradise for snowmobiling enthusiasts.

Contemplate the "ghosts" that haunt the snow-covered valleys and windswept mountaintops: evergreens that are so covered in soft snow that they are completely camouflaged. Here, snow accumulation can reach up to 3 metres! After a good snowfall, the landscape looks like a carpet of cotton wool, sound is muffled, and silence reigns. You will have the feeling that you are all alone in this magical universe. Change of scenery guaranteed!

You return to Cap au Leste Outfitter at the end of the day, full of visions of snowy paradise, for a last supper and a last night on the headland of the Fjord.

DAY 9 - SAGUENAY FJORD / CHARLEVOIX (165 KM)
ACTIVITY: ICE FISHING

After breakfast, it is time to discover something new: the Inuit tradition of ice fishing. Right on the Fjord, you will set your line and attempt to entice the trout, just like the Eskimos of the Far North.

Then you set out for the Charlevoix region, following the majestic Saguenay Fjord and then the St. Lawrence River itself. To add to the unforgettable moments already experienced on this trip, you now receive a royal reception at the famous FAIRMONT Manoir Richelieu*****, a five-star hotel complex between the river and the mountains. After the cozy comfort of a log cabin, you will savour the luxury of a grand hotel. After all, you are on holiday!!!

At the end of the day, try your luck in the Manoir Richelieu Casino. Who knows? Maybe your honeymoon will last forever... A gastronomic dinner featuring local Charlevois specialties, before retiring to your suite overlooking the ice-bound St. Lawrence.

DAY 10 - CHARLEVOIX / QUEBEC (165 KM)
ACTIVITIES: ROMANTIC SKATING INTERLUDE & ICE HOTEL

Breakfast with an incomparable view of the icy St. Lawrence. Today you are invited to enjoy a romantic skating interlude for two - one of the profound pleasures of winter. Or if you prefer, explore some of the Manoir's magnificent trails on cross-country skis.

After a delicious lunch at the Manoir, your journey continues toward Quebec City, and a place that is definitely out of the ordinary - a hotel made completely of ice! Even your welcome cocktail of ice wine is served in a glass carved out of ice. You will have the time to explore this impressive structure and learn the secrets of our master builders before dinner, a sumptuous table d'hôte by candlelight in the adjacent restaurant. You will spend the night in a theme suite of the Ice Hotel, where you will sleep on skins inside a special sleeping bag built for two...

DAY 11 - QUEBEC
ACTIVITIES: TOUR OF THE OLD CAPITAL & CHÂTEAU FRONTENAC

After breakfast, your journey continues towards the birthplace of North America's French civilization, Quebec City. At once charming and friendly, Old Quebec invites you to spend a most romantic day within her walls. Explore the citadel, the Dufferin terrace and the Petit Champlain district, and admire the majestic ice-bound St. Lawrence from the deck of a ferry.

At the end of the afternoon, check into your deluxe room at the famous Fairmont Château Frontenac*****, with a panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River. An intimate dinner for two at La Trattoria Sant Angelo, in the Petit Champlain district, followed by a night on the town in small but lively Quebec City - celebrate your union in one of the city's many pubs, lounges, nightclubs,... before spending a comfortable night at Château Frontenac.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN QUEBEC CITY
Spend the night in a local home
Sliding at Valcartier Vacation Village
Ice Safari in a hot air balloon

Crossing the ice of the St. Lawrence River

DAY 12 - QUEBEC / MONTREAL AIRPORT

On this last morning, you will have time for some last-minute shopping for souvenirs in Quebec's boutiques, or in the large shopping centres of nearby Ste-Foy, an impressive network of over 1000 shops of all kinds. Departure for Montreal after lunch. At the Montreal airport, return your vehicle and check in for your flight home.
