DAY 1 - CALGARY AIRPORT / CALGARY (8 Km)
ACTIVITIES: EXPLORE THE CITY + SHOPPING

Welcome to cowboy country in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Well known for its typically "western" but modern ambiance, Calgary is a dynamic and friendly city. Pick up your car at the airport and check into your downtown hotel, the Ramada Calgary***. There you will receive your Authentik travel book, with all the details of your adventure including a road map indicating your route, as well as a personalised roadbook, a host of practical tourist information, a toll-free assistance number, vouchers...

Optional activity in Calgary
Calgary Tower

DAY 2 - CALGARY / BANFF / ROCKY MOUNTAINS (220 KM)

ACTIVITY: DISCOVER TWO NATIONAL PARKS

After breakfast you set out to explore the famous Rocky Mountains. Your first destination is the legendary Banff National Park. Like something in a dream, you soo find yourself in the heart of the Majestic Rocky Mountains! This region, covering more than 22,000 km2, is known throughout the world for its spectacular natural attractions and offers high mountain landscapes of a rare splendour!

You have the whole morning to enjoy the grandiose scenery of Canada's first National Park, third in the world. Visit the celebrated town of Banff and the icy cliffs of Johnston Canyon, via the sublime Bow River Valley.

At the end of the afternoon, make your way to Emerald Lake Lodge**** in the heart of Yoho National Park, where you will be spending the next 5 nights. The lodge is magnificently located in an isolated valley on the shores of exquisite frozen Emerald Lake. Enjoy a delicious dinner, featuring Rocky Mountain cuisine, in the lodge's sumptuous dining room.

DAY 3 - ROCKY MOUNTAINS
ACTIVITIES: SNOWSHOEING & CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

After breakfast, you set out once again to tackle this beautiful wintry land. This time you will discover the trails of Yoho National Park on specially designed snowshoes, ideal for hiking through powdery snow in the mountains. Like the coureurs des bois (French Canadian trappers) of the 19th century, you will explore this vast winter wilderness, land of extremes.

In the afternoon, try some cross-country skiing on the trails maintained by the Lodge. The beauty of the surroundings is sure to enchant both the novice and the experienced skier alike. Return to the Lodge for supper and a good night's sleep.

DAY 4 - ROCKY MOUNTAINS (60 KM)
ACTIVITY: SNOWMOBILING

After breakfast, you leave the Lodge and head for the edge of Yoho National Park, where an exciting snowmobile adventure awaits you. But not before some snowmobile technique and safety instruction from your guide... You will eat lunch in the forest, in the company of your guide who will fascinate you with his in-depth knowledge of the territory: its geography, flora and fauna. After lunch the adventure continues along the panoramic trails, towards a vast plateau above the valley. You return to the Lodge at sundown for supper and a cozy night at Emerald Lake Lodge. The night is especially peaceful here in the heart of the boreal forest.

DAY 5 - ROCKY MOUNTAINS (LAKE LOUISE)
ACTIVITY: SKIING OR SNOWBOARDING

Today you will enjoy the spectacular terrain and admire the impressive glaciers overlooking Lake Louise as you zoom down the mountain on skis or board. Lake Louise Ski Resort is a 30 minute drive from the Lodge and offers 130 downhill ski runs from a height of 992 metres. There is something for everyone: skiers or snowboarders, children, adults, beginners, intermediates or experts, you will meet your match at Lake Louise. Supper and a comfortable night's sleep at the Lodge.

DAY 6 -
ROCKY MOUNTAINS (60 KM)
ACTIVITY: DOG SLEDDING

Breakfast. This morning you will experience winter in its most pristine beauty - by dog sled. At the reins of your own team of dogs, you will cover about 16 kilometres through the magnificent forest of Banff National Park. Dog sledding creates an almost palpable bond between you and the animals, and permits a close contact with nature. This is a rare opportunity for contemplating the fascinating winter landscapes.

After lunch (not included), weather permitting, you will go skating on the famous Lake Louise. Don't forget your camera!
Supper by a warm fire and your last night at Emerald Lake Lodge.

DAY 7 - ROCKY MOUNTAINS / CALGARY AIRPORT (220 km)
ACTIVITY: SHOPPING

This is your last morning in the Rocky Mountains! Spend some time visiting, or do some last-minute shopping in some of the many boutiques in Banff or Calgary. Then head for the Calgary Airport, return your rental car, and board your return flight. You will leave our land of snow with lasting memories of your Rocky Mountain vacation!

Optional activity along the way
Olympic Park

Authentik Advice: Count on an extra day for the return trip. For example, if you leave on March 13th, you will arrive in London on the 14th. The return flight is 10 hours long, to which you have to add the 7-hour time change. If you leave at 3 pm , you will arrive in Londo the next morning at 8 am, local time.
