     DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1 - QUEBEC AIRPORT (Jean-Lesage Airport)
ACTIVITIES: EXPLORE THE CITY & SHOPPING

Welcome to the birthplace of North America's French civilization, Quebec City. For your accommodation tonight we have chosen a charming downtown hotel, the Chateau Laurier***, where you will receive a warm welcome and spend a comfortable night adjusting to the time difference. There you will find your Authentik travel book, with all the details of your adventure including a road map indicating your route, as well as a personalised roadbook, a host of practical tourist information, a toll-free assistance number, vouchers, etc. We wish you a great stay in the land of snow and winter sports!

Take advantage of your time in the Capital City to do some shopping for winter equipment - winter gear is much less expensive here in Canada than in Europe.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES IN QUEBEC CITY
Lunch in an authentic Sugar Shack
Dine on the roof of Old Quebec

Sliding at Valcartier Vacation Village

Ice Safari in a hot air balloon

A night at the Ice Hotel or Tour of the Ice Hotel
A night in a country home

Crossing the ice of the St. Lawrence Seaway

Authentik Advice: Do not transfer on to another destination directly after your arrival. The flight from Paris to Quebec, for example, is 8 hours long, and what with the 6-hour time change (at 5 pm in Canada it will feel like 11 pm), you will welcome a good night's sleep in Quebec.

DAY 2 - QUEBEC / APPALACHIANS (115 KM)
ACTIVITY: MEET A TRAPPER

After breakfast, you pick up your rental car (or rendezvous with your private transport, if that is the option you have chosen). Departure for the beautiful Appalachian region with its majestic winter landscapes, located 115 Km south of Quebec (1.5 hrs). The scenery is picture-postcard perfect as you approach the mountains.

You arrive at Daaquam Outfitter and get settled into your typical wood cabin. Lunch in the dining room and a meeting with a real trapper. The trapper played a fundamental role in the history of Canada, as you will discover this afternoon. Your trapper guide will take you out on his trap line where he will teach you about the trapper's life. An intense experience in the heart of the great outdoors.

For the next few days, you will be staying at a typical Canadian Outfitter huddled in the heart of one of the flatlands of the Appalachians. In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, you will enjoy the comfort of your own wood cabin with full bathroom, hot water, lounge with fireplace, electric heating... Not far from your cabin, you will sample the specialties of the chef in the main hotel dining room: smoked bear with maple, wild game pâté, smoked salmon, beaver pie... Why not have a before-dinner drink at the hotel bar, with its fireplace, big-screen TV and pool table? And then unwind in the spa in the outfitter's health centre... after all, you are on holiday!

DAY 3 - APPALACHIANS
ACTIVITIES: SNOWMOBILING, SNOWSHOES AND SPA

This morning, you set out with your guide for a snowmobile adventure in the heart of the Appalachians, where you will discover landscapes of a singular beauty. Return to Daaquam Outfitter for lunch. The afternoon will be spent exploring the snowy trails of the New World on snowshoes. End the day relaxing in the Outfitter's outdoor Jacuzzi, followed by a good night's sleep in your cabin

DAY 4 - APPALACHIANS
ACTIVITIES: DOG SLEDDING AND SKATING ON THE FROZEN LAKE

Live an adventure with a capital "A" this morning as you explore the natural wonders of winter by dog sled. With your team of Huskies, you will discover a world of unexpected beauty. You will appreciate the passion of your "musher" (dogsled guide) for these affectionate and impressive animals.
During this winter excursion you will travel to the Canada-US border and will visit an Appalachian peat-bog. Lunch at Daaquam Outfitter.

The afternoon will be spent skating on the frozen lake. Local country-style dinner with the compliments of the chef, served by a warm fire.

DAY 5 - APPALACHIANS
ACTIVITIES: ICE FISHING AND TOBOGGANING

This morning, you will fish for trout through a hole in the ice - an Inuit tradition for thousands of years. Enjoy your catch for lunch.

In the afternoon, rediscover the joy of snow sliding - magical moments await you on the nearby slopes!

DAY 6 - APPALACHIANS / QUEBEC AIRPORT (115 KM)
ACTIVITY: CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Follow the winding trails of this mythical forest on cross-country skis and let yourself to be soothed by the songs of the birds. Last lunch at Daaquam Outfitter before the return bus ride to the Quebec airport.

You will leave this land of lakes and rivers with many stories to tell, and fond memories that will last a lifetime.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES BEFORE DEPARTURE
A night in Montreal

Attend a Montreal Canadians hockey match

A day with an Indian Chief or A night with the Algonquin
Skiplane flight

Authentik Advice: Count on an extra day for the return trip. For example, if you leave on Day 6, you will arrive in France on Day 7. The return flight is 6 hours long, to which you have to add the 6-hour time change. If you leave at 3 pm, you will arrive in France the next morning at 3 am.
